What Givv Is

Givv is a social impact platform that helps users track their philanthropic engagement, connect with causes, and build a verified giving identity. Givv is not a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and does not directly solicit or process charitable donations.

Information We Collect

• Account information: Name, email address, and profile details you provide (bio, cause tags, giving style, monthly goal).
• Photos: A profile picture or squad logo, if you choose to upload one from your photo library.
• Giving activity: Donation amounts, recipient nonprofits, campaigns, cause categories, and timestamps.
• Content you post: Comments, hearts, squad names and descriptions, campaigns you start, and reports you submit.
• Social data: Follows, squad memberships, blocks, and notifications.

How We Use Your Information

• Display your giving activity, engagement levels, and impact scores within the app.
• Power social features like squads, leaderboards, and the activity feed.
• Generate your verified impact profile and credential pages.
• Send notifications about activity from people you follow and squads you belong to.

Payment Processing

All donations are processed by Every.org, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. When you make a donation through Givv, your payment information is collected and processed entirely by Every.org. Givv never receives, stores, or has access to your credit card number, bank account details, or other payment credentials.

To save you typing, Givv passes your first name, last name, and email address to Every.org to prefill its checkout form, along with a reference ID so we can record the gift once Every.org confirms it. Every.org handles all PCI-DSS compliance, payment security, and tax-deductible receipt generation. For details on how Every.org handles your data, refer to their privacy policy at every.org.

Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest and TLS encryption in transit.
• Authentication is handled via secure session tokens.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
• Access to the database is restricted to application-level operations only.

Third-Party Services

• Every.org — Processes all charitable donations and issues tax receipts.
• Supabase — Hosts our database and authentication infrastructure.
• Vercel — Hosts the Givv web application.

These providers receive only the data they need to provide their service, and we rely on them to protect it to the same or an equal standard as this policy. We do not share your individual giving data with nonprofits or other organizations beyond what is shown publicly in the app, described below.

Your Public Profile

Givv is a social app. Your name, profile picture, bio, cause tags, squad memberships, and the comments you post are visible to other users. Confirmed donations appear in the activity feed and on squad leaderboards with your name, the nonprofit, and the amount. Your email address is never shown to other users. When you share your Givv profile link, your name, cause tags, engagement levels, impact score, and giving streak are visible to anyone with the link.

Moderation

Content you post passes through an automated word filter. When you report content or block someone, we store the report and review it. Blocking hides the other person's activity from you and yours from them.

Children

Givv is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from the Profile screen in the Givv app, or by contacting us. Donation records processed through Every.org are subject to their retention policies.
